Who is responsible for your information?
I’m Mark Walton, performing as Mark Walton Vocalist. I’m responsible for how your personal information is used to provide these services (the data controller). Address: 12 Findochty, Erskine, PA8 6ED, United Kingdom. Email mark@mwvocalist.com or call 07394 058 635. My PA (Personal Assistant) helps me manage enquiries and bookings.
Information we collect and why
Booking requests include your name, email address, phone number, venue, occasion, date, requested start time and any notes you provide. Contact enquiries include your name, email, message and optional phone number. I use these to reply, discuss your quote, reserve dates and arrange the performance. Providing the required fields enables us to respond and manage your request; I need your email address to send a digital agreement.
For an agreement we also record the agreed fee and terms, your typed signature, signing time, IP address and browser information. I use these to record what was agreed, manage deposits and payments, send service messages and handle cancellations or disputes. Technical logs, session identifiers and security information help protect forms and accounts against abuse.
Why I can use this information
I use booking information to take steps at your request before entering a contract and to perform that contract. My legitimate interests include answering general enquiries, keeping services secure, maintaining accurate business records and handling disputes. Legal obligations may require us to retain accounting or other records. Optional Analytics uses your consent, which you can withdraw through Cookie preferences without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Cookies and optional analytics
Essential sessions protect forms and diary access. reCAPTCHA checks on contact and diary sign-in forms help detect spam and automated abuse. Google Analytics loads only after you accept optional analytics; it measures public-site visits, accepted enquiries and contact-link clicks. My site’s custom events do not include your form contents or contact details. Advertising features are disabled. Private diary and contract pages are not tracked. See the cookie policy for storage names, purposes, durations and controls.
Who receives information?
My PA (Personal Assistant) and I use booking information. SiteGround provides website hosting and infrastructure; Resend delivers booking and agreement emails; Google provides reCAPTCHA and, if accepted, Analytics. These providers receive the information necessary to deliver their services. I do not sell your personal information or add you to a marketing list just because you make an enquiry.
Providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Their processing locations and transfer arrangements depend on the services and account settings used. You can contact me for details of the arrangements relevant to your information. Read SiteGround's privacy information, Resend's privacy information and Google's privacy information.
Facebook recommendations
The homepage shows public reviews from my Facebook Page, including the original review text, date and a link to the reviews section of my Facebook Page. Longer reviews can be expanded to read in full. My website’s server refreshes a private copy of the review text periodically through Meta’s API. Reviewer names and profile pictures are copied from Facebook when its API supplies them, or verified separately against the public Facebook originals. The homepage only displays a review card when both its reviewer name and picture have been verified and cached. If Facebook omits those details, the review waits for verification; previously verified details are retained only for the same unchanged review.
Viewing these reviews and pictures does not connect your browser to Facebook or load Facebook tracking. Following a Facebook link opens Facebook, where Meta’s privacy policy applies. Reviews that are no longer returned by Facebook, including deleted or hidden reviews, are removed from the website on the next successful refresh. If refreshes fail for seven days, my website stops displaying the saved reviews and their attribution. Contact me if you would like a review excerpt, name or picture removed from this website.
How long I keep information
Cancelled booking records and their associated diary details are retained for 12 months from cancellation and then automatically removed from the booking system. This allows an accidental cancellation to be restored. Copies in delivered emails and backups may remain separately; contact me if you need help locating or removing those copies where appropriate.
Active booking and agreement records are kept to provide the event and handle payment, records and any subsequent queries or disputes. Contact correspondence and security records are kept only for the business or security purpose for which they are needed. These categories do not currently have the diary's automatic 12-month cancellation deletion rule. You can ask me about a particular record or request deletion, subject to any continuing contractual or legal need to retain it.
Your cookie choice and Analytics cookies are configured for up to 180 days. Information already received by Google is subject to the Analytics property's retention settings and Google's applicable policies; withdrawing consent does not automatically erase that information.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time. Some rights have exceptions, for example where records are needed to meet legal obligations or handle a claim. Contact Mark using the details above to make a request.
If you are concerned about how I use your information, please contact me. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
Security and decisions
I use secure connections, access controls and protections against abuse. Booking deadlines and date availability are managed automatically as described during booking; My PA (Personal Assistant) and I handle quotes and booking enquiries. This site does not use Analytics for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
